Ministry close to home

For years, our youth group has traveled to other cities to work with the homeless populations, soup kitchens, and food banks over spring break. This year, after hearing about a ministry right here in town, they decided to stay close to home. The Hunger & Thirst Ministry is a local mission that was established about 5 years ago by one man and his wife. It feeds the homeless, helps people find work if they have lost their job, helps families with utility bills and also gives bible study on Sunday and Wednesday nights. My kids have loved helping with this ministry. They are even talking about how they could help with the mission this summer. You can just see the fire in their eyes to help with this ministry. I was visiting with one of the people that helps run this mission last night. He said that there is a homeless camp just north of town that has about 55 tents/shacks. That is a huge homeless population right here in our small town. I can't wait to see how God is going to work through this one man's vision and step of faith.
